Age-Friendly Action Plan

The City of Oceanside joined the AARP Age-Friendly Network on April 7, 2024. The City is working with the Center for Excellence in Aging & Longevity at the San Diego State University Social Policy Institute to develop a 5-year action plan. The City hosted several listening and action planning sessions  to gather community input about needs and priorities that would make Oceanside more livable.  This 5-year action plan was developed based on information gathered during the public outreach.

Parks and Recreation Month - Free Kids Pickleball Clinic

Have a child that wants to learn how to play pickleball? Join us for a free pickleball clinic at Melba Bishop Park on July 11th!

 Participants will learn the basics of pickleball in a fun environment and enjoy organized play by age and ability. Children will be taught by certified pickleball coaches from Melba Bishop Pickleball Boosters Association.

Age Groups

Ages 10-12: 8-9:30AM

Ages 13-15: 9:30-11AM

RSVP by Sunday, July 7th by emailing MelbaBishopPBA@gmail.com. Include parent name, child name and age, and contact information.
