In the unlikely event you experience a payment issue with one of our parking machines or meters you may request a refund by completing the online Parking Machine/Meter Refund Request form. Back-up documentation such as a parking receipt is encouraged and may be attached to your on-line request.
Request and Purchase Parking Permit
Carefully read the rules and regulations for the requested permit type located within the permit program section(s) below. After you have reviewed and agree to the program rules and regulations request your permit and follow the instructions.
You will be asked to create a user ID and password and upload any required documentation as defined by the rules and regulations of the permit type requested. Once the application is approved you will receive an email to log back in and pay for the permit. Please confirm that the email address listed on your account is valid. For physical permits, at the time of payment, you can choose to have the permit mailed to you or be ready for pickup in the office. An email will be sent when the permit is ready for pickup at the City's Cashier office. Government issued ID matching the permit holder will be required upon pickup. For virtual permits, the permit will be activated after payment has been completed for the time period requested.
Annual Beach Lot Parking Lot Permit Program
The Annual Beach Parking Lot Program allows patrons to park in designated beach and harbor pay lots without having to pay the parking fees. The cost of the parking permit is $100 for permanent residents and $200 for non-residents. Beach Area Resident Permit Parking Program
Oceanside Traffic Code Sec. 13.24
The purpose of the program is to provide residents within the boundaries of the metered area and four-hour parking zones an on-street permit parking alternative. Eligible residents may purchase resident and guest permits at a cost of $10 each. Please read the Beach Area Resident Permit Rules and Regulations for eligibility requirement and additional information.
Preferential Parking Permit Program
Oceanside Traffic Code Sec. 10.30
The purpose of the program is to allow residents that are impacted by correctible parking intrusions to obtain a parking permit. Only residents within an approved Preferential Permit Parking Area are eligible to obtain parking permits at a cost of $15 each. Please read the Preferential Permit Rules and Regulations for additional information and requirements.
Oversized Vehicle Permit Parking Program
Oceanside Traffic Code Sec. 10.28.3
The purpose of the program is to allow a resident to receive a temporary permit for the overnight parking of an oversize vehicle or non-motorized vehicle on the street overnight due to special circumstances. The cost of the 24-hour permit is $5 each. The annual permit cost is $150 and is only issued due to special circumstances. An oversized vehicle is any vehicle that exceeds 25 feet in length, or 84 inches in width, or 84 inches in height. A non-motorized vehicle is any trailer, travel trailer, tow dolly, semi-trailer, boat trailer, utility trailer, or any other vehicle with means of self-propulsion.
